This month, we congratulate Andrew Hair for reaching the incredible milestone of 35 years with Sharp Office! Andrew joined our team in 1995 as an apprentice technician, driven by his passion for technology and hands-on work. His dedication and commitment have helped shape our business into what it is today.
We asked Andrew about one of the best parts of being part of the team, and he noted that “the people in our team make a great impact”. With many staff members staying with the company for over 10 years, Andrew says that this longevity has allowed everyone to grow as professionals and as friends and peers.

As Andrew worked his way up through the Service Team, his passion for print technology continued to grow. One of the biggest evolutions he witnessed in our industry was the shift from analogue to digital photocopiers: “The biggest change I’ve seen is when photocopiers went from analogue to digital, and now the photocopier could print, fax and scan, not just photocopy”, he recalled. Historically, an office could have one printer attached to a computer to print documents, and would then use the photocopier to make copies or additional finishes like stapling. Digital photocopiers as we see today combine all these functions and can be accessed throughout the office.
Over the years, Andrew has watched the company grow alongside these technological advancements. From our expanding office space to the increasing expertise of our service technicians, the combined knowledge within the team now spans more than 125 years.
One of Andrew’s most rewarding experiences has been helping customers understand and get the most out of the technology we provide. His dedication to serving our clients and his wealth of knowledge make him a true asset to Sharp Office. Andrew has spent his whole life in Newcastle with a proud Tongan heritage. In addition to raising a family, Andrew also enjoys playing basketball and keeping up with local sports. Congratulations Andrew, we look forward to many more years at Sharp Office!
