The McGrath Foundation Breast Care nurses play a crucial role in the lives of people affected by breast cancer, particularly in the Hunter Region. These dedicated nurses provide invaluable support and care to patients, helping them navigate the challenges of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Their expertise and commitment provide all-round support during an overwhelming time, which is why supporting this cause is so important.
This year, Sharp Office was proud to sponsor the McGrath Foundation Breast Care Breakfast Fundraiser, organised by PKF. Through combined efforts during the day, the organisation was able to raise almost $50,000, which will fund more learning, palliative care, patient care and research.
According to the organisation, 54 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia each day. The aim is to grow the number of nurses throughout Australia from 145 nurses to 250 by 2025. Since 2011, over 6,000 patients have been helped in the Hunter Region and over 86,000 across Australia.
