Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College Case Study

Project Scope

Document Management Solution: PaperCut implementation to reduce print volumes and the school’s overall carbon footprint.

About Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College

Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College is an independent Preschool to Year 12 co-educational school providing Hunter Valley families with a globally innovative and future-focused education for their children.

Located in Fletcher, an outer suburb of Newcastle NSW, the historic former home of Newcastle’s first MP, James Fletcher, serves as the administration engine of the school.  It is here that the first Sharp MFD Photocopier was installed in 1999, and with the continued growth and success of the esteemed college, this has now grown to a fleet of 13 photocopiers and printers installed throughout the school.

When IT Manager Tim Gardiner recently reached out for some guidance on reducing the school’s carbon footprint and administration costs, we found the best Document Management solution on offer that matched their specific requirements.

We spoke to Tim about the project.

Why did you choose Sharp Office for your recent Document Management project?

Sharp has been an integral part of the College since we were founded – going from a single MFC in 1999 all the way to a fully managed print solution with a fleet of 13 copiers secured by PaperCut. We believe in maintaining these strong relationships and expanding them where possible with additional value-added services. Having a single point of management and escalation provides the College with a streamlined, personalised experience.

Sharp Office provides everything we need for a holistic approach to document management and office consumables, embedding personalised proactive service to ensure business continuity

What benefits have you experienced since implementing the project?

Staff have realised the impact of their printing and have moved to questioning the need to print a document vs. working with it electronically. We have also been able to provide school and department-level accounting, identify any issues of overspend, and ultimately reduce the number of prints and consumables. From this reduction, we hope to realise additional savings on renegotiating our managed print agreement.

Would you recommend Sharp Office to other businesses for Document Management?

Any business seeking to reduce paper, optimise business processes and move to electronic document management. As more business moves to the cloud, it’s vital that existing processes and documents aren’t left behind – and for that reason, every business should consider what Sharp Office can offer.
